Thousands of veterans, first responders, and civilians are silently battling PTSD, trauma, and other visible and invisible disabilities. Many are on our growing waiting list – urgently needing the healing, safety, and stability that only a fully trained medical service dog can provide.
But without support, they may wait months…or far too long. On World Mental Health Day, we’re launching the 2025 National Mutt Strut to raise awareness and funds for those still waiting. Your support makes it possible.
Every dollar helps us place life – saving service dogs – at no cost to the recipient.

Every Step of the Mutt Strutt supports real people facing invisible battles – and real service dogs changing lives.
You’ll meet veterans, first responders, and civilians who once faced overwhelming challenges — from PTSD and trauma to isolation and despair.
Then everything changed when they were paired with a Guardian Angels Medical Service Dog.
These powerful stories show the true impact of your support — and the life-saving bond between each recipient and their dog.
These are the lives you help transform. These are the reasons we walk.
As a US Marine Corps Veteran, I faced numerous challenges after my service. I was so lucky to be paired with a beautiful Super Medical Service Dog, Foxy, from Guardian Angels. With Foxy by my side, I’ve found the strength and confidence to navigate daily life once again.
I was becoming suicidal – wanting the nightmares to end – and was tired of being tired, ready for it all to stop. Then my Dr. suggested a Service Dog. Then I met Donnie. Today, I am sleeping much better, and Donnie is a constant at my side. Donnie knows when I’m headed for dark places.
I have PTSD from my time in the war. I have anxiety, depression, hypervigilance. Prior to having her, I was suicidal, I was depressed. I just didn’t want to get up. Because I have her, it forces me to get up, take care of her and take care of myself. Clara has brought me forward by leaps and bounds.
